Very interesting...
While reading a group on facebook for Christian women who have survived abuse, I was given an idea for a new book- a compliation of various persons' stories of overcoming abuse with God's help. I decided to pray about it, but decided to do that later since it was getting late & I just didn't feel I had the proper focus. I watched "Praise The Lord" & Josh McDowell was on. Not sure if you've ever heard of him. I hadn't until last night. Fascinating speaker. He discussed his own abusive upbringing, & how he has overcome so much, but even so, still has a couple of issues. God put ideas in my head as I was listening to Josh speak..
This will be a free e-book available for download on my site (or any site where I can make it available!). That way, anyone in need of help & inspiration may access it. Also, stories included don't need to be those of people who have entirely overcome their abusive pasts. Most of us who have been victims have come a long way, but still have the occasional trigger that sets us into panic or anger, or we still have things we cannot seem to forgive no matter how much we try. It's a good idea to show people that there is nothing wrong with them if they have those issues- it's just residue from the abuse, & it's normal.
